Each 1ml serve is 800 microlitres of Hericium novae-zealandiae fruiting body extract and 200 microlitres of its mycelia grown on fermented brown rice, in a 30% ethanol base.
Drops, Not Capsules.
One 1ml dropper under the tongue, held for 30 seconds to a minute, then swallowed. Nothing to swallow whole, nothing to mix. Too strong? Stir the dose into 50ml of water instead.
Grown In New Zealand.
Hericium novae-zealandiae is the native New Zealand Lion's Mane, a different species from the overseas Hericium erinaceus. Grown and handpicked in rural New Zealand on wood pellets.
What is in each serve
One species, Hericium novae-zealandiae, the New Zealand Lion's Mane. Each 1ml serve is 800 microlitres of fruiting body extract (80%) and 200 microlitres of mycelia grown on fermented brown rice biomass (20%), in a 30% ethanol base. No sweeteners, colour or flavouring.

How To Take It
One millilitre under the tongue, once a day to start. That is the entire routine.
- Fill The Dropper To 1ml. Squeeze the bulb and draw the liquid up to the 1ml mark on the pipette. Start with one serve a day, in the morning. Directions say up to three serves a day if you want them.
- Under The Tongue. Hold. Drop the 1ml under your tongue and hold it for 30 seconds to a minute before swallowing. It is a strong herbal flavour with an alcohol taste. If that is too much, stir the dose into 50ml of water and drink it.
- Five Days On, Two Off. Forest Finds recommended taking it five days a week with two days off. At one serve a day the 30ml bottle lasts about a month; at three a day, about ten days.

Common questions
What does Lion's Mane do?
We do not make health claims for this, and you should be wary of anyone who does. It is a food: one named mushroom species at a stated dose in a stated base. What it is and how much is in each serve is on the label, and that is what you are paying for.
How much do I take, and when?
Start with 1ml once a day, in the morning. Directions say up to 1ml three times a day. Put the drops under your tongue, hold for 30 seconds to a minute, then swallow. Forest Finds recommended five days a week on and two days off.
What does it taste like?
A strong herbal flavour with an alcohol taste, which is normal for an alcohol-based tincture. Reviewers are split on it. If you would rather not taste it, stir the 1ml into 50ml of water and drink that.
Is there sugar or alcohol in it?
No sugar, sweetener, colour or flavouring. Yes to alcohol: the base is 30% ethanol. One serve is 1ml, so a full day at three serves is 3ml of liquid.
Is it gluten-free? Vegetarian?
The label carries neither mark, so we do not claim either. What it lists is mushroom fruiting body, mushroom mycelia grown on fermented brown rice, and ethanol.
Is it organic?
Forest Finds labelled it organic NZ Lion's Mane, grown on organic wood pellets. No lab report is published for this product, so it does not appear on our testing page.
How is this different from the Lion's Mane Capsules?
Different species and different form. The tincture is New Zealand-grown Hericium novae-zealandiae, fruiting body plus mycelia, as 1ml of liquid in a 30% ethanol base. The capsules are 1,000mg of Lion's Mane fruiting body extract taken as two capsules, with no alcohol. Both are 30 serves.
Can kids take it?
No. Like everything we sell, not suitable for anyone under 18, or for pregnant or breastfeeding women. It also contains alcohol. If you take any medication, check with your GP first.
